Undead and Unemployed (Queen Betsy, Bk 2)

This is the second book that should be read after the first one since it helps to know Betsy's transformation into the Queen of the Undead and how she deals with it. In this book, Betsy has a job at Macy's, selling designer shoes. Because she has a shoe fetish, this is her dream job. The only problem is her vampire friends who keep pulling at her to help solve the murders of vampires around town. Catherine Spangler, author and critic, describes this book as, "Chick lit meets vampire action in this creative, sophisticated, sexy, and wonderfully witty book." There is a sexy undertone since Betsy becomes smitten with Sinclair, a much older vampire who she met in the first book. But she keeps him away with her words. In this book, Sinclair helps Betsy hunt down the vampire killers. I didn't find this book "a wonderfully witty book" as I've read much funnier books but it was humorous enough to keep reading. Betsy has grown much as a character from her first appearance in the 1st book. If you take this as a lighthearted and humorous read, then you may probably get through it in one night.
