A great read that describes some of the worst plagues and the people who stopped at nothing to get rid of them. Each plague is thoroughly done starting from the beginning to the end. The author adds humor to the story which keeps it from being a dry, boring read. Very interesting and spine-chilling.
A few things took away from the book. There was some pop culture references sprinkled throughout. Not sure that was a wise idea. Years from now, readers might not know what they are talking about. The other was that you could tell the author is a liberal and does not care for much of anything conservative. It is their belief but this is not the type of book to incorporate that. The last thing was the chapter on lobotomies. Even though the author felt that it should be added, I disagree. This was a book about plagues not medical procedures. I have already read books on this subject and really didn't need it added.
All in all, it was a great book and the issues were only minor.
