This is a well-written detective story. It is a page-turner, once it gets going, and was hard for me to put down. The characters are believable and not stereotypically drawn.

I prefer to read mysteries for the mystery and not for foul language, sexual situations or horror-type violence. This book fits that, except for one scene that takes place well into the story. The scene is short (a couple of pages or less) and added to the story, but I wished it had been left out or described less graphically. The scene would be considered typical by today's standards.

After reading this, I read an earlier book, Afterimage, and I liked that book, too.

This book is definitely worth your time!
