I was sitting alone in my father's living room going through the books on his shelves when I came across Red Dragon.
I knew Nothing about the book or it's soon to be(it was a while ago) very famous author.
I started reading it while sitting cross legged on the wooden floor.
And I couldn't put it down !!!
This is in my opinion the BEST of Harris's books which include some famous ones including Silence of the Lambs.
The story hangs on a sad loner who works in a photo developing place and whose main hobby is pumping iron.
Demented and strong, he finds happy families by culling through the photos he develops. Then he go's out there and hacks them all(sparing no one, not even the pets) to death.
Some how, in his warped mind, every time he does this it is one step closer to his metamorphosis as a Red Dragon.
So they bring the best FBI guy to solve this type of case. One who has had many of these and is able to empathize by putting himself in the killer's place. This does not do a lot for his own peace of mind but it does make him highly effective.
Fantastic Read . Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way.
My Highest Recommendation !!
