Very original story - part mystery, part love story, part courtroom drama. A granddaughter works to uncover the truth about her grandmother's past during World War II in France. A priest works to uncover the truth about an accused Nazi war criminal who has requested sanctuary at an English monastery. Their searches intersect and lead them both to discover difficult truths and force them to make hard decisions. USA Today called it "an intricate mystery of both the mind and the soul" and I think that sums it up best. I truly enjoyed this book.
