Another Robin Cook medical mystery, this time starring the heroes of his Vector novel, medical examiners Jack Stapleton and Laurie Montgomery. The twist this time, and what makes this one of his best, is the introduction of Jazz, one great villainess. If you like Robin Cook, you'll love this one.
I have to add this; it has nothing to do with the book, but only the cover art. Specifically the back cover. All of Cook's most recent novels show a full shot of him on the back cover, usually in some sort of clinical setting wearing a doctor's white coat and stethoschope. On the back cover of Marker, Cook is dressed casually in a sweater and standing in a richly furnished room that might be his house. The great part is that Cook is standing there, feet shoulder width apart and hands on hips, doing his best George Reeves Superman pose. It's hilarious. You simply must check out this book if for no other reason than to see SuperCook in his natural surroundings.
