Book Review of Applied Cryptography: Protocols, Algorithms, and Source Code in C, Second Edition

reviewed on + 9 more book reviews

This book is well written (not dry), intespersed with common sense wisdom and ending with real world applications. The algorithms presented are well done with enough examples and source code that a serious programmer could implement the algorithms within. Contains excellent perspective on the nature and future of security. Though this book was printed in 1996, the information is still highly relevant; presented algorithms are still widely used. Not much has changed since this book was written; the application of the protocols has expanded, and some new functions have been created, such as SHA-3, but not much else.
