I call this book classic King. He doesn't resort to the gross out horror that he had been using previously. This is a book that follows one guy that you come to care about. I didn't find the arm thing repitious at all. I thought it was a well crafted tale of what it would be like to wake up and find a very vital piece of yourself missing.

Also I found the scare in this book very well done. I like King best when his horror is subtle. I like it when you get scared of a well lighted area. Some place that you would never normally consider something horrifying to sneak up on you. He's in the Florida Keys. I'm a notherner and when I think of the area I think of white sand, umbrella drinks, and Jimmy Buffett. Not the kinds of horrors related in this book.

As one of Kings so-called 'Constant Reader's I say get it and read it. Really great stuff.
