Had never read this author before and since i am from Iowa, thought i'd give her first book a try. Was a winner!! Seven short stories, all very different. I like short stories sometimes at night because if i am tired i can read just one and have a place to stop. Right from the first one, i was laughing out loud, while reading in bed, at the two young girls who promised each other they would keep something secret and the youngest of course tells, the reaction of the older one had me laughing out loud. Each story has it's own merit and of course there will be ones you like more than others, you just can't help but pick one. I liked One Dog Happy i think. I will be waiting for more from this author. I must mention, this is not a childrens book as the cover may hint at.
