Psychic researcher Geoff Viney provides a fascinating new look at the reality of life after death - through examination of scientific evidence, psychic phenomena, and myth. I only read part of this book. Though some of my own spiritual beliefs clashed with the author's beliefs, I enjoy reading alternative points of view. Parts of the book were inspiring. It felt good to know, once again, that my life won't end here. That I just won't go out in a puff of dust. The subtitle to this book is "Evidence of the Afterlife". However, this book was published in 1993. Since then evidence has become more refined and we now have new information. For awhile, scientists thought that when a person dies it triggers off something in the brain which gives them these life after death "hallucinations". One, that doesn't explain why they're all basically the same hallucinations (in some areas); and, two,now that brain research is more advanced, it has been found that there is nothing in the brain that corresponds to what has been reported. Read with an objective mind, "Surviving Death" is provacative and stimulating and even inspiring but I'm afraid the final answer to what happens after death will only be resolved when life no longer continues to exist for us.
