Continues Phoebe's story(and I think you really need to read Dreaming in Black & White first or you'll miss out on the whole development of her character and who key players are in this one)

In the first book it ends with her starting to date Alex, her dream man. In this one she's still waiting for their first kiss and trying to decide which movie scene it will fit(yes she's still stuck in dreamland like in the movies)when he announces he's going home to England when his father is sick. She doesn't receive the gushy emails she dreams of getting and no mention of l-o-v-e on his part. When an older male friend thinks they belong together he encourages her to visit England so she talks a local friend into going with her and surprise Alex. I thought hoo boy it's gonna be one of 'those' but really aside from pining a bit she didn't make a total jerk of herself and waste a trip..she and Mary Jo had a good time seeing the sites. Of course she gets 'the talk' from Alex but seems to mature. honestly probably faster than I would have but the book wasn't ruined by her pining away for this guy.

She does tend to live in the old movies..like creates a world she likes and expects things to live up to that. The ending is sorta a cliff-hanger in that we really don't know what happens with her life(though from author's website she appears in Turning the Paige so we know more about what goes on afterwards!) but it's open to different possibilities though what's important is that at the end of this book she's happy with herself and her decisions and her life. I had cheated and read the ending and it bothered me til I read the whole book and it fit really well and was good IMO. funny how cheating can give the wrong idea.

as far as the christial fiction aspect, this one DID have a bit more praying in one part that I hadn't noticed much in the other but again for those who aren't reading this for the christian aspect but for the chick lit and humor that seems to be a trademark for this author..it probably wont bother you! It fit in with what was going on in the story and since the main characters are christian it makes perfect sense for them to be praying...if that makes sense LOL!
