Twenty One year old witch Savannah Levine is in over her head. Her first solo paranormal investigation ends with a family torn apart. Feeling guilty, Savannah tells herself she would give anything to fix the situation, including her powers. Suddenly, Savannah can no longer call up even her most insignificant spell. Her powers are gone. This is only the tip of the iceberg when she finds that a witch hunter is on her trail. Without her powers, Savannah must use ingenuity to outwit the witch hunter. She must also ask for help from her friends when it becomes apparent that a paranormal group is ready to announce their existence to the world even though that is against council policy.

Although this is book twelve in the Women of the Otherworld series, it feels like the middle book in the Savannah Levine trilogy. At the end of the last book, something took away Savannahs witchcraft. She seems to believe that without her powers, she is no one. At times she acted like a petulant child not getting her way. Im hoping that the events in this book will cause her to mature quickly. The storyline in this book kept me interested, but there was no clear endingmore like to be continued. Im hoping to read the last books in the series soon to see what happens next. My rating: 4 Stars.
