I tried reading this book last year and just couldn't get past the concept of two strangers meeting at a wedding, almost having sex in a coat closet, and then writing confessions of their love life to each other right away. Confessions are given in more intimate relationships (in my world). For some reason, I gave it one more attempt and am somewhat glad I did. The confessions were interesting, the writing style pleasurable to read, but the end of the book a little disappointing. Jane is a major screwup, and John could do better. I did enjoy the written-letter format, especially since they were snail-mail letters! Who does that in this electronic age? If you enjoy books written in correspondence style, try "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". That one's a keeper!
