I was given this book complimentary in exchange for an honest review.

Double Dip is A Davis Way Crime Caper and the second book in this series by Gretchen Archer. The book will be available in bookstores in January 2014 but I was lucky to get an advanced copy to read and to review.

I thoroughly enjoyed book one, Double Whammy, and was so delighted to receive this second book. Even though the book appears to have a theme about gambling or slot machines this is just one part of these very diversified multi-subject books. The plot works wonderfully well to give you a fantastic and realistic story about a feisty and intelligent main character who you just want to get to know better and better. The other characters in these novels are so well described that they all come to life on the page. The setting is believable and lots of fun to visualize and the antics and the theme could be real life stories with a little twist.

This author makes you have a love/hate relationship with a few of the secondary characters due to the in depth depictions of them and their role in the book, but you end up wanting to know more and more of each of them as the stories progress.

This book is current, poignant and thought provoking and oh so much fun to read. This story is very amusing due to a highly skilled knowledgeable writer who makes the story so believable that a non-slot players or someone who has never seen the inside of a casino will enjoy it to the fullest. The writing is so impressive and descriptive that I long for the day when I can get to take a trip to Biloxi, Pine Apple, and other locations where the characters are hanging out!!!

I am looking forward with great anticipation to Book 3 and Book 2 is not out yet; that is how much I am lovin' this Davis Way series.

I have reviews on both Amazon and Goodreads if you care to read them.

I have rated this book five star. I would give it six stars if I could.

If you like cozy mysteries, I am willing to "gamble" on the fact that you will love this series. Give it a spin and see for yourself.
