There are nineteen cake designs with easy step by step instructions - with only 4 to 7 per cake. Most of them use standard size cake pans but if there is any cutting to be done, there is a clearly marked, easy to follow diagram.
he front seven pages are filled with basic cooking and frosting tips - complete with eleven pictures. The last three pages contain three frosting, one jam glaze and a chocolate cake recipes.

On the cake instruction pages there are little cake tips These range from by adding a bit of frosting to the bottom of a cake, it will not move around, making it easier to frost to tinting and cutting tips.

All of the extras, are easy to read and understand. Most of them an older child could understand but some would still require an adults help. I like the way they help make things easier - like suggesting the child pre-draw the details before doing it in frosting, making it easier to just follow the lines. There is an metric conversion chart on the back inside cover.
