There are nineteen cake designs with easy step by step instructions - with only 4 to 7 per cake. Most of them use standard size cake pans but if there is any cutting to be done, there is a clearly marked, easy to follow diagram.

I like the way they help make things easier - like suggesting the child pre-draw the details before doing it in frosting, making it easier to just follow the lines.
