This is a good book for folks researching from many different dog breeds. However, like all the multi-breed guids, the author does have her biases (she tends towards assuming that ANY dog with more energy than your average paperweight is inappropriate for a home without someone home all day or children.) A good starting place, but read skeptically. Most useful used in conjunction with a few other breed rating books (Kilcommons & Wilson's "Paws to Consider" is great!) and some hands on experience with folks at all-breed dog shows.
