Even though this is the second book, it's really the third story if you count Myst and Nik. Definitely read their story and the first book, after that it doesn't really matter which order since they pretty much all happen at the same time.

This was a fun book but was a little slow to start. I don't think Cole mentions why Kaderin felt so guilty for her sisters' deaths until the end, but I knew about it from the other books. I think it's less frustrating knowing why. I liked both characters. I thought Sebastian was quite sweet and enduring since he is so innocent (nice to have the man be inexperienced once in a while in these stories).

The snappy dialogue between Kaderin and Sebastian doesn't happen until more than halfway through the book. Nix is still incredible and continue to be my favorite character.

I do have to admit it wasn't as good or well written as the other ones but I still enjoyed it.
