I wanted to drop five pounds so I checked this book out of the library; while I adopted the lemon water idea I couldn't stick to the diet plan at all. Ick. After a few days I took the book back and used my reliable old stand-by, Carrie Latt Wiatt's "Eating by Design". The Power Player diet works great for me --bagel or oatmeal plus fruit and a latte for breakfast, veggie salad and protein for lunch, fat-free cookies, fruit, or cake for a snack, then protein, salad and veg dinner, including half a baked potato, plus a nice big bowl of berries for dessert (frozen cherries with some plain yogurt and Splenda on is surprisingly good). I supplemented with Gittleman's suggested amounts of lemon water and cranberry juice and I will say that after the third day, I felt great. The five pounds came off in about 11 days; would have been faster if I had time to work out every day. I would say use Fat Flush to begin a diet but I don;t see how anyone could stick to it for long.
