Contemporary small town romance.

This is the second in a series of interconnected romances set in Valentine, Colorado. I did not read the first book and did not have any problem following the story or the characters.

This is a nice romance and I mean that in the best way. The romance is very sweet and mostly drama free, not a lot of tension, but a lot of warm feelings. If you like this type of story, youre going to want to continue reading about the nice folks in Valentine.

The heroine, Brooke, is a little too perfect. It would have been nice if she would have had some endearing flaw. But her flaw is that she is bossy, not so endearing. She was also very deliberately drawn as a strong, well-adjusted, independent woman. The hero, Adam, was of the wounded warrior type. But really, not too wounded. Being around the warm and wonderful people of Valentine fixed him right up. I need to find this place, they have donuts.

I couldn't read a steady diet of this, but it really makes a nice break from some of the darker stuff I've been reading.
