The orphaned daughter of an English earl, Lady Jane Prentice arrives in South Carolina. She finds herself in the middle of a war between her former country and her new country and also between members of her family as the America divides itself into British Loyalists and American Patriots. Even her two beau are divided in their loyalties. Jane struggles to find her own identity amid the turmoil and tries to become "just Jane".
A very good read with insight on the reasons for the Revolutionary War in America. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. A more detailed account of this story is "Stonehill" by William Lavendar. Both good reading.
