This is a story about a man who loves his dog. He is at a point in his life where he has isolated himself from family, most friends and social activities. Even work holds no stimulation for him. But he has Lily his loving and wonderful dog friend. Together they do most everything until Lily ages and becomes sick. As he tries to deal with her illness he finds himself grief stricken and in denial. He dreams about Lily, their activities, what he wishes they could do and how he can fight her illness. I enjoy books of this type where a human unveils love for a pet. Dogs do not judge us they just love us. It's so comforting. And, this type of read helps me remember how important animals are to our lives. Liked it very much.
