It's been 20 years since the murder-suicide of Lea and Ted Hardy's parents, and the wounds haven't healed. Though Lea left town and tried to put the past behind her, Ted built a new life, only to see it fall apart when he learned secrets that led to the deaths of his wife and daughters. Now awaiting execution for their murders, Ted has given up hope. Too many people want to see him die, taking those secrets to his grave. Lea, determined to save him, finds an ally in an old friend, Mick Conklin. Yet she dares not give her trust too easily, and risk being burned.
