Never Cry Wolf (Night Watch) by Cynthia Eden
* I received a copy of this book from Kensington in exchange for an honest review*

Sarah King isnt who she seems and shes hiding many secrets. She hopes to convince Lucas Simone, alpha of the local pack, to offer her protection. All she has to do is vouch for him and get him out of jail, the rest should be easy.

Lucas was arrested when a dead man was found on his doorstep with his throat sliced out. Its not a wolf kill but he cant tell the police that because werewolves dont exist. Its pack business and they will take care of the ones responsible for the death.

Sarah had been undercover with Rafes pack until he found out her secret, now shes on the run with a price on her head. Lucas is her only hope but she cant tell him the whole truth and hopes that he cant spot her half truths. Will any of them come out of this alive?

Lucas is drawn to Sarah even though he knows that she is hiding something. He agrees to protect her in exchange for information about Rafes plan to come after him. His wolf just wants to protect her no matter what happens in the pack. He makes a formal declaration in front of his pack that she is his mate. Once he takes care of Rafe, his wolves and the coyotes, he will fully claim her.

The sexual tension between Lucas and Sarah is evident from the very beginning. Its not a matter of if they will have sex but simply when it will happen. They are a good match because they are both lost souls looking for someone to call their own, they just dont know it. He is determined to show her that not all wolves are animals during sex.

Lucas is a strong, alpha male that has always been looking out for others. Hes had a heavy load to carry on his shoulders since he was a young boy and hes never wanted anything for himself, until now. His pack is being hunted and his pack members may not all be loyal to him.

Sarah is a charmer that can mind speak with werewolves when they are in wolf form but that is just one of her special talents. Shes never felt like she belonged anywhere until she joined Rafes pack undercover but that was short lived. Now she has a price on her head and her only hope is Lucas. What I loved about Sarah was that she isnt a helpless female; she is clever, smart and able to kick butt on her own.

This story was full of action and adventure along with sex scenes that scorched the pages. The author provided the reader with just enough of Lucas back story to draw us in and fall in love with the alpha. The secondary characters added to the story and opened up the possibility for more books in this series. I would love to see what happens with Dane and Piers since it appears they both have found their mates too.

Overall I enjoyed this book and hope to see more in this series in the future. I give Never Cry Wolf 4½ Flaming Hearts.
