My boyfriend suggested that I read this book, and I don't regret it one bit.
Syrup is the story of a young man, Scat, who is trying to make something of himself in the marketing world.
While to many this may sound like a rather boring or uninteresting plot, author Max Barry could make a 500 page novel about going to the bathroom interesting, intelligent, and funny. And that's just what he's done with this book.
His style is sarcastic and witty, observant, and very intelligent.
Regardless of what types of books you usually like, I'd suggest you read this book.
It's not too long, either, so if you're worried about not being interested in it, you don't have much time to lose by reading it.
And if after it, you're thirsting for more, he has two other books, Jennifer Government and Company (but under "Max Barry," his real name. "Maxx" was a joke, which you'll understand once you read the book).
