The story is told in first person narration, moving between Maurice, Bouncer, and the vicar, who is a quiet man who simply wants a quiet life. This is hard to achieve when there is an obnoxious neighbor, a jealous banker,a drunken bishop and the accidental murder of the obnoxious neighbor interfering with that idea of the quiet life....this book was an interesting and fast read. Highly entertaining. The second book in the series is set up at the end of the book so I would suggest reading this one first.
