Paranormal romance by Abigail Gibbs. Violet Lee witnesses an unbelievable scene one night, while trying to meet up with her friends. She is then dragged into a world she never knew existed. Vampires, politics, intrigue, betrayal. The vampire royal family can't let her go, since she's learned of their existance, and insist that she accept the life of a vampire. But, Violet's father is an influental man within the British Government, and he wants his daughter back. Kasper, heir to the vampire royal throne, has no explanation why he spared Violet's life, and brought her into his world.

The first part of the book seemed slow and dragged on, for me. I couldn't understand why Violet didn't try harder to run away. But, somewhere around the middle of the book, the story really picked up, and I just had to keep reading. One complaint I have is that some events seemed to come out of nowhere all of a sudden. All of a sudden there is a Formal Ball, then did you hear about the Prophesy?...and by the way there are alternate Dimensions.

Yet and still, the book is very entertaining, exciting. Lots going on here, and it gets good after the scenes are set. Violet and Kasper are OK as main characters, but sometimes tedious. Violet: "He's a bloodsucking, arrogant jerk,..why to I care about him." Kasper: "She's nothing more than a lowly, yet attractive human girl, they are a dime a dozen....why can't I stay away from her."

The cover boasts "The Sexiest Romanance You'll Read This Year". Not really, but still a pretty entertaining read.
