It had a strong (though unrealistic) ending and a great secondary character in the hero's grandmother, but I almost didn't finish it because there were so many exclamation points in the first half of the book. I think it's the first time I've been pulled out of a story by punctuation. The heroine is in dire straits so I was sympathetic towards her. I usually like the cold, aloof hero, but unfortunately Lord Hawthorne came across as mean rather than misunderstood at times.
