Ian has been a part mortal, part fae Guardian of the fairy portals for over 600 years and he is sure he can handle an American writer but is in for a surprise when she lands on his doorstep. Sarah, a romance novelist, was drawn to Scotland from somewhere inside herself, that same somewhere her special gift came from. A sensor, she felt emotions and feeling just by touch, and she had never considered it a gift. She finds Ian gorgeous, kind, and way too young for her. For the first time, she is not overwhelmed when she touches him, just senses a warmth, but remember, she had sworn off men. Ian and the fae realize that they have someone here, so close to a portal, who has no idea of what her gift is, they decide Ian needs to keep a very close eye on her sure that their enemies will try to gain control of Sarah and her gifts. Keeping Sarah safe from her unknown stalker, her slimy ex-husband, and the Nuadians suits Ian just fine, he wants to keep her close for his own reasons, ones he should fight, but he doesnt want to. This is the second in a series and once past the first part of the book I really enjoyed the story. I'd recommend it.
