Wow. As the mother of a child who has autism, it was difficult to read about the abuse that this child received from the one person on earth who should have been protecting her. (her mother). But the details were definately kept to the minimum, (Otherwise I would have had to stop, because I just don't do well with child abuse stories. . . )But I am glad that I read this. Donna gives amazing perspective. She wrote this book actually as a journal, to try tofigure out her life; never intending for it to be published, so I thik it's a miracle that we even have this book available for us to read. I'm glad I read it. I'm sure I'll read it a second time. She also has a second book, "Somebody Somewhere", it's in my 'to be read' list.
