She's a legend. As youngsters, if we were behaving like a prima dona, my mother would quip, "Since when did you become Sarah Bernhardt?" I didn't know who she was then, but I sensed I could never match her. Nobody can. Ok, maybe Barbra Steisand, but even then, they are both in their own leagues.

This is a fabulous book. She was a a remarkable women, way ahead of her time. It gets a bit much reading about all her antics. However, it is a worth the read and all the pictures. Good beach novel, if a bit thick.
