Shed made such a fool of herself. You didnt actually think you were the only girl Barrett was seeing, did you? Marshall jeered. Hes just been seeing you because he felt some misguided sense of responsibility toward you. Dani never doubted that Marshall knew what he was talking about. Information like that was his specialty. Dani had been slow to realize that she was in love with Barrett King. Now the futility of that love swept over here. How could she face the rest of her life without him?

What do you know about love? Barrett raged on, Or sex for that matter? More that you think. Dani was uncomfortably conscious of the ruthless line of his mouth. I know it takes two willing people. You believe that a man cant force himself on you, he jeered. The first time I kissed you, I knew that if you had been kissed before, it wasnt by a man. Ive been kissed before, Dani asserted. She tried to push herself away from his chest, only to have him draw her more firmly against him. Do you see how easy it could be? Barrett muttered against her mouth. Now do you understand? No, she answered weakly, closing her eyes briefly against the magnetic attraction. No, now I dont understand anything.
