Clocking in at 276 pages, this barely qualifies as a novel. As a romance, its not much better. Playboy pararescueman Vince Reardon wipes out on his motorcycle due to lawyer Valentina (Val) Russos inattentiveness at the wheel. Hes understandably angry, as this accident lays him up and prevents him from participating in a rescue mission.

Val tries to make it up to him but fails spectacularly, as Vince hates lawyers. Seems that years ago, a witness perjured himself on the stand which led to his brothers incarceration. His brother dies in prison, and Vinces heart is seared.

Vince and Val do have their moments, though, especially when she attempts to take him a large stuffed animal as a peace offering and again when he takes her to a biker bar for a date. Val is involved with volunteering with underprivileged kids, and Vince sees a softer side of her.

The characters werent that great and neither was the story. Find another romance to read.
