Life seems to hold so much promise for Angie Quinata. In just a few days she will graduate with honors as a beautician from Guam Community college and then she has an excellent chance for a prize job at the top salon in town. Not to mention she's dating the most eligible bachelor on the island, Jay Harkness.

And then the unthinkable happens. The victim of an uspeakable crime, Angie must find a way to climb slowly and surely out of her dark abyss. With encourgement from her doctors and friends, her shattered life begins to heal, for a time. But promises aren't always what they seem to be.
