I gave this book 2.5 stars because somewhere near the middle an interesting mystery turned into a Zane Gray Western novel, except it takes place in Australia. In fact, for the last 50 pages or so I was skimming a lot of the "Zane Gray text" just to discover the conclusion of the story.

Not that I don't like the occasional Zane Gray novel, but this was suppose to be a detective mystery. In fact, Zane Gray's "Wilderness Trek," which takes place in Australia, is one of my favorite 'westerns.'

Plus, in this story, our hero, Bony, seems to have an exceptional ego problem. Not sure why.
