The realtor tried to convince Jill Carey that the run-down old house was haunted. But she was drawn to the Bliss House in rural North Carolina -- it called to her. She is on her own for the first time in her life, fleeing tragedy and an assumed sense of guilt. So, she purchases Bliss House, ghosts and all. Her first task is to find a contractor to make the house habitable. But none of the locals can be convinced to take on the task except Kyle Randall.

Kyle doesn't believe in ghosts, even though one of the ghosts was his great, great grandmother. He desperately needs the money, however, so he takes on the responsibility of making Bliss House habitable. He is an expert in the restoration of old houses, and Jill wants the house returned to its Victorian splendor.

The two ghosts inhabiting the house, Laura Randall and Cyrus Bliss, are trapped for one hundred years. The only way they can move on is for one of their descendants to marry and return to Bliss House. And their one hundred years is running out.
