Book Review of The Pharmacist's Mate

The Pharmacist's Mate
reviewed on

Sweet, super-short little memoir. Fusselman combines excerpts from her father's World War II era diary about his time as a pharmacist's mate with her own thoughts from the present as she deals with his death. The work manages to be both literary and very personal. Fusselman treats her family realistically and does not gloss over the difficulties in their relationships.
