"A Passion Most Pure" by Julie Lessman is the lastest book I received through the Paperback swap and finished this weekend. It is the 1st in The Daughters of Boston series and was a great read!

The story is set in the early 1900 in Boston and revolves around the O'Connor family, an Irish imigrant family. Patrick, the father/ husband works at the Times while Marcy, mother/ wife, is running the home. The sisters Faith and Charity are always at odds and often over the same man.

WWI disrupts the family with Patrick and others are drafted and sent to Europe. Marcy moves the rest of the family to Irland to care for her ill grandmother. Faith and Charity continue their rivalry over men and again it goes badly for Faith. In a rush of emotions she returns to Boston. She is able to resolve some issues and return to her faith in God.

The story has many twists and turns and it would be unfair for me to reveal the conclusion, but it is a real page turner. Can't wait for #2.
