This autobiographical account as one of three hearing daughters to deaf parents is good. Each chapter could stand alone as an essay, so the book seems mildly disjointed. The author does a great job of letting us in on what must be a complicated life--torn between two cultures (hearing and deaf) and at times, not feeling like a member of either. Her frustration with working as a translator is so convincing. The reader gets a sense of her angst as she translates others' language, but hasn't a voice of her own.
