Two books in one and both are great! In fact, I'm anxiously anticipating the third. The characters of the first book are supportive characters in the second book which kinda continues their story in the background. Not overtly in your face. If you've read other reviews, you'll see this is one of the few times I've read a series in order. *gasp* Of course, it's hard to read out of order in this instance. Regardless, they were really great and I read both of them in under a weekend because they were so good I had a hard time putting them down! To keep distractions minimal, I did something I rarely ever do. I challenged my son to see if he could read his book faster than me (he was reading the books Eragon and Eldest in a combined book) and my daughter to circle her "popcorn words" (words she is learning how to read) in an old magazine of mine. Housekeeping...didn't exist that weekend. lol. REALLY, really good books!
