This book got off to a shaky start for me when our heroine, Willa caught the attention of her reclusive neighbor while moving into the house next door. There's nothing wrong with that as a plot device, except in this case, blonde and beautiful Willa is doing her preliminary move in, with heavy duty cleaning slated for later that day, in white capris and a white tank top (braless), in the pouring rain. So yeah - she *really* caught the attention of her new neighbor. This section of the book could have used a bit of judicious editing to get rid of the unnecessary and campier elements.

Thankfully I resisted the urge to pitch this one out as just another example of a Too Stupid To Live blonde heroine. She redeems herself, and the story evolves into a tight litle mystery with some spooky elements added in for fun.
