Book Review of Things I Want My Daughters to Know : A Small Book About the Big Issues in Life

I really enjoyed the advice Alexandra Stoddard gives. A lot of it is generic, but she has some good quotes and really makes the reader think about things in life.
However, there is a slight tone of domestic housewife in there, despite her being a successful entrepreneur. Make sure you can do your own hair? It isn't the 1950s; I am pretty sure most women have been doing this for awhile.
There also is more of a selfish tone in there than I like, such as the Five-Hour Rule. Whereas I get that for extended family, how could she let her own daughters and her grandchildren stay at a nearby hotel when they come to visit? My parents, his parents? SURE! But if I had kids, I want them around me all the time.
Though, I did like her other "selfish" tips, which are encouragements to make sure you don't burn out.

It is a good, quick read.
