This book was very helpful to us when our daughter was a baby. From birth, she refused to sleep unless someone was holding her or lying next to her in bed. We tried the Ferber method, but quickly realized it was unsuited to our particular needs, and this book gave us insight into reasons our daughter might be having trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. It also gave us some ideas for specific techniques to use to help ease our daughter into better sleep habits. It didn't end up being the final solution for us, but it did reassure us greatly that there WAS a solution. (For the record, she's 2 now and sleeps well all night long in her own room, and has since she was 17 months old.)
