Love in the autumn is God's blessing before the winter.

A bizarre incident at the high school triggers Edith harkness's retirement as a home economics teacher. It is also supposed to be the start of her so-called Golden Years.

While Edith is a widowm grandmother, and mother at a crossroads in her life, her son, Bob, the manager of the family hardware store views his mother's future as a dead end. Ready to pack her off and mover her to a local nursing home in Arizona so he can move into her house. Not yet. Edith is about to meet Roy Dutton and the last thing she thought could ever happen to her again does: Love. Life can begin again but only when propelled by a powerful faith.
