This was my first Ellen James but it won't be my last. Category romances aren't rocket science but sometimes an author rises to the top. Plot revolves around the heroine's MIL hiring the hero (the man next door) to watch our heroine and prove that she murdered her husband. As the story unfolds Michael comes to realize Kim didn't kill her husband and there is more than meets the eye with the dead man's wealthy family. The plot is basically average, has been done before, but Ellen James is such a good writer that she makes it work and work well. The sure sign of a book I know I'm going to really, really like is when I start it and can't put it down and before I know it I can't believe I've read so much in so little time. I have a slew of James's books TBR - can't wait to get started on them. Do give this author a try.
