This was a pretty fast book to read. The beginning really grabbed my attention: Young woman, orphaned and alone on her homestead; her discovery of a half dead, bloody man hiding out in her cellar; the immediate arrival of a gang of riders claiming to be a posse on the trail of a dangerous, wanted outlaw; followed by a shoot-out...
A lot of action, just like I like.
But the longer I read, the less I was interested, although I did finish reading the book. I just did not find it all that engrossing because it lacked complexity. The characters were both wonderful and likeable, but reminded me too much of the "All American" stereotype young adults.
As a matter of fact, I would probably recommend it more for the young adult reader in spite of some passionate sexual scenes.
My taste just runs a little to much todwards the dangerous and blood thirsty historical western romances.
