Courting Miss Amsel may be one of my favorite books ever. She is a lovely, independent woman teaching in her first school. She is very creative with her teaching methods and this causes some of the townspeople to complain. In fact, one man is downright mean to her! She faces obstacles, but overcomes them in the end. She learns the hard way what it means to trust Christ and her life changes! I especially enjoyed the characters children in her classroom. All but one accepted her teaching methods and loved her for making learning fun and for her devotion to them. Great book!!
