Overall, I'm guessing that since this was the first release into the series, that they hadn't worried so much about story quality. (The original copyright on all the stories was 1995, so they're older pieces as well.) The things I read in later editions was much better than this one. This one is just tamer and not very good. If it had been the first one I'd read in the series, I'd probably not have worried about looking for more. Luckily it wasn't, so I will.

A Lady's Quest
Even though the plot for this story was very predictable (and I could swear that I've read a book very similar to this in the past), this was still a fairly okay story. It wasn't really enough to impress me, though, and I'm pretty sure I won't be making an effort to look for stories by this author in the future.

The Spinner's Dream
This wasn't the best short piece that I've read by this author, but it was still interesting. Once again, some events are predictable, but it was a more enjoyable read than the first story. Unfortunately, the end just felt too rushed and too simple.

The Gift
I used to really like to read romances with sheiks in them when I was a teenager. I just thought the concept of being swept away was "so" romantic. Until I discovered just how unrealistic the idea is. This story ends up fitting into the typical storyline of where a girl is captured and forced to become part of a sultan's harem, yet despite all the odds, the two of them form a monogamous relationship. Gag me. Really. When are we going to see one where the chick ends up as one of the guy's wives and learns to deal with it? There can't be that many men in that area of the world who are raised with the expectation of fathering lots of kids with lots of women in his own "adult's playroom" who keep giving it all up for one white woman. I don't know why author's can get away from writing this type of crap story. Ugh!

The Proposal
I didn't find this story very "shocking" like the blurb on the back of the book claimed it to be. The only thing I found amusing was that a guy realized he wasn't so great in the bedroom department and wanted to do something about it. However, his idea of spicing up their sex life was just too cliche. He wanted to introduce one day a week to having naughtier sex with her wearing stiletto heels and skimpy underwear and getting her bottom smacked. I also doubt having someone explain (while in the process of) why a spanking is arousing because of the heat causes by a slap is going to be all that erotic. It made his experiment with the woman feel like a science project. I'm also thinking the guy should feel a little insulted that his skills in the bedroom were so lame that she wanted "kinky" night twice a week after experiencing it.
