Well, of all the books concerning global warming I have read in the last 5 years, this author by far has the best hair. (James Lovelock's isn't bad, but he's 94 years old, for goodness' sake), which by my reading of society, means that he will have the most effect in the long run on public opinion on the subject. Anyway, his academic background is in business, not science, so he does have a lot of weirdly supported (read: non-supported) facts, but he's a lot more realistic than the scientists who write on this subject, who think in terms of changing all of society because of a problem that is full of sublety. Also, unlike most skeptics, he doesn't spend a lot of energy on personal attacks against the more "alarmist" scientists, at least not at the beginning.
