The ISBN is correct, the cover is correct... but the description given is dead wrong. The book is not a work of fiction, and as far as I can remember, at no point does Terence McKenna figure into it.

This book is a non-fiction work that explores the science and philosophy of consciousness, including asking the very interesting question, "Can we remember our pre-natal life?" Grof was one of the scientists involved in using LSD in experiments of consciousness (before LSD was made illegal), was one of the players in the development of transpersonal psychology, and is friends with Fritjof Capra.

If you enjoyed The Tao of Physics, then you will likely enjoy this book too.

From the back cover:
"An exceptionally clear and readable introduction to the evolving psychology of the spirit, transpersonal psychology, that is one of the most exciting developments of our times. Grof is far and away one of the leading scientists exploring this field, and this book makes his work accesible to all." - Charles T. Tart, Ph.D., author of Waking Up
