#3 Dido Hoare, antiquarian bookseller in London mystery, and the fourth book I've read in this series. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with this book. The bad guy and mystery was so very obvious and with each clue that came up, I was able to spot it as something that would be significant later. I really felt that Dido was totally stupidâthere was a bit of this in the last book I read, too, but this time it was very obvious to me and I kept wanting to smack her upside the head and say, âDon't be such a dumb-ass!â LOL I still like her, but the mystery really needed a bit of deeper plotting in order to not make it so obvious and not to make Dido seem so silly. I hate to say it, but this is a case of a great character with the storyline sort of falling down around her. In this book, Dido visits a client's home to appraise a book collection and ends up finding something potentially much more valuable than she anticipated, and of course ends up mixed up in things she'd rather not have encountered.
